Jewish
Sections
Several
Sections have been allocated for the specific use of reform Jewish burials through
the Congregation Shomer Emunim. The oldest Section, #27, is full, with many graves
dating to the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1921, Rabbi Joseph Kornfeld
dedicated a second Section,
#38. Very few lots are still available in this Section. Section 38A was dedicated
in 1971 by Rabbi Leon Feuer. Many lots remain available in this beautiful area for the use of those in the Jewish faith and tradition.
In
Jewish tradition, the symbolic act of placing a stone on a gravesite indicates
that the loved one has not been forgotten. In late 2001, Temple Shomer Emunim
placed a fount in section 38A so that visitors might have a source for these memorial
stones.
Chinese
Section
In
1943 the Yee Hing Hong Association acquired over 400 plots in Section 24 for the
use of Toledo's Chinese community. Any member of the Association may be buried
there. Each year on the last Sunday in May, the Association holds a traditional
Chinese memorial service to honor their ancestors, known and unknown, who are
buried there.

Woodlawn Cemetery, call our office at 419-472-2186.
